Ebad Al-Rahman Center is in the final stages of renovation and maintenance and will open soon to begin project activities. This marks an important milestone for the surrounding community, which has been eagerly awaiting the restoration of this vital service hub. The reopening will provide a safe, accessible, and dedicated space to support women and girls affected by the current conflict.

With praise and gratitude to God, and in close cooperation with the on-site maintenance team at Ebad Al-Rahman Center in Omdurman, Al-Rashideen Block 14, and through the tireless efforts of the project officials, the center’s rehabilitation—funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with CAFA Development Organization under the Joint Response to Gender-Based Violence Project—has nearly been completed. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening protection mechanisms and expanding services for survivors of violence.

The project focuses on studying and documenting the cases of women survivors of war, understanding the nature of the violations they have faced, and identifying the economic, social, psychological, and legal consequences of these experiences. Based on these assessments, the project aims to find practical, context-appropriate solutions and interventions for each case, including referrals to specialized services, psychosocial support, and livelihood opportunities where possible.

The maintenance work is nearing completion, paving the way for the second phase of the project, which involves implementing a comprehensive package of activities. These will include individual case management, group awareness sessions on gender-based violence, community outreach aimed at prevention, and coordination with local stakeholders to ensure a holistic response. Once operational, Ebad Al-Rahman Center will serve as a safe environment where women and girls can seek support, share their experiences confidentially, and access services that respect their dignity and rights, contributing to stronger, more resilient and robust communities.
