Introduction

CAFA Development Organization has joined the launch of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign in Khartoum State. As a result, this news update highlights CAFA’s role and its ongoing commitment to women’s rights.

Role of CAFA and partners

The launch took place in the presence of the Khartoum State Minister of Social Development, Mr. Siddig Hassan Farini. In addition, CAFA participated alongside the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Humanitarian Aid Commission, and a wide range of local and international organizations. Together, they kicked off the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence as a key platform to speak out against abuse and discrimination.

Why the 16 Days campaign matters

The campaign sends a clear message: violence against women and girls is unacceptable. Moreover, it calls on communities, institutions, and decision-makers to address the root causes of gender inequality and harmful practices. In addition, it encourages open dialogue, reporting of violations, and stronger accountability.

CAFA’s commitment to women’s rights

Through this participation, CAFA reaffirms its commitment to women’s rights and protection. Furthermore, the organization works to support women and girls in vulnerable and crisis-affected contexts by promoting prevention, response, and survivor-centered services. CAFA also engages with communities to challenge stigma, change social norms, and build safer environments for women and girls.

Planned activities during the 16 days

During the 16-day period, CAFA will contribute to awareness sessions, community dialogues, and outreach events. For example, these activities aim to inform the public about gender-based violence, highlight available services, and motivate community members to take action. In addition, they help connect survivors with information and support in a respectful and confidential way.

Looking ahead

By joining the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, CAFA confirms that sustainable development requires justice, equality, and safety for all women and girls. Therefore, the organization will continue to work with government bodies and national and international partners to expand services, improve prevention, and amplify the voices of women in policy and decision-making spaces.
