Promoting Hygiene and Community Well-being
The CAFA Development Organization – Sennar Office actively participated in the Global Handwashing Day celebration held across several communities in Sennar State.
Moreover, this global event aims to raise awareness about the importance of proper hand hygiene as a vital practice for preventing diseases.
During the celebration, CAFA contributed ten large containers of liquid soap to support local schools and community centers. Furthermore, this effort reflected CAFA’s strong commitment to promoting healthy habits among children, women, and men equally.
Empowering Families Through Awareness
The event emphasized that handwashing with soap is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to prevent the spread of infections.
In addition, it encouraged families to adopt regular hygiene practices, particularly before meals and after daily household activities.
Women and girls, who often lead caregiving roles in families, were also engaged as key promoters of hygiene and behavioral change.
Therefore, CAFA’s contribution played a meaningful role in empowering communities to take proactive steps toward better public health.
Partnerships and Local Engagement
The activity was implemented in collaboration with local health authorities, school administrators, and community volunteers.
Furthermore, CAFA emphasized community inclusion by involving men, women, and youth in discussions about water safety and sanitation awareness.
This participatory approach helped increase understanding of hygiene-related challenges and motivated households to sustain good practices at home and in schools.
Sustaining Hygiene Education Beyond the Day
CAFA Development Organization reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting hygiene education as part of its broader health and protection programs in Sudan.
Consequently, the organization will continue expanding similar initiatives to rural areas, ensuring that every child and family gains access to safe hygiene resources.
