Cafa Organization for Development – North Kordofan (El Obeid), in collaboration with the Social Development Sector and with the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), implemented community awareness activities on community protection and child protection issues under the project “Support to Protection Services for Families and Children Affected by War and Displacement.” The activities were carried out over 6–7 December 2025, targeting five locations within El Obeid city, including displacement camps, schools, and host communities: Sawar Al-Dahab School, Southern Abrasi Camp, Southern altagana Camp, Arous Internal Displacement Camp, and Al-Shuhada Neighborhood.
Facilitators noted a high level of community engagement and positive response to the awareness messages, while also identifying the need for additional guidance for some families on safe referral pathways and reporting mechanisms. They further highlighted several challenges, including limited access to basic services in some locations and difficulties in maintaining continuous access to certain families. The recommendations included strengthening regular awareness sessions, enhancing collaboration with community leaders, and providing additional support materials for targeted groups to expand the impact of the messages and improve protection for children and families most at risk.
