Health Awareness and Education Campaign in North Kordofan
CAFA Development Organization – North Kordofan State, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Health, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and British Aid, implemented a Health Awareness and Education Campaign to stop the spread of COVID-19. This initiative aims to raise public awareness, encourage preventive measures, and protect vulnerable communities across the state.
Participation in International Youth Day
As part of its outreach activities, the organization participated in the International Youth Day celebration. During the event, CAFA set up an introductory exhibition focused on COVID-19. The exhibition highlighted the methods of virus transmission and practical steps for prevention. Moreover, it demonstrated how to make homemade masks and emphasized the importance of wearing them consistently.
Distribution of Protective Materials
Throughout the program, CAFA distributed protective supplies to attendees to support personal hygiene. Specifically, the organization handed out 100 masks and 195 bottles of hand sanitizer. These materials helped participants adopt safer practices while attending the event. Additionally, volunteers explained proper mask usage and sanitizer application to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Awareness and Community Engagement
The campaign combined educational content with practical demonstrations to engage youth effectively. Volunteers guided participants through interactive sessions and answered questions about COVID-19. Furthermore, attendees learned about maintaining hygiene at home, social distancing, and other preventive measures to reduce virus spread.
Impact and Sustainability
The Health Awareness and Education Campaign successfully improved youth knowledge about COVID-19 prevention. As a result, many participants adopted safer behaviors and shared the information with family and peers. Moving forward, CAFA plans to continue similar campaigns, combining public education with the distribution of protective materials to strengthen community resilience.
