CAFA Organization – South Kordofan, in partnership with UNICEF and in coordination with the Child Welfare Council, and with the presence of a representative from the Humanitarian Aid Commission, held meetings to establish referral committees for children in contact with the law in four neighborhoods representing the four sectors of Kadugli City.

The Council’s representative emphasized that the formation of these committees came at a critical time, when the community is in great need of such mechanisms aimed at strengthening the community’s corrective and rehabilitative role for children in conflict with the law. This is particularly important given the suspension of court operations due to the war and the absence of judges, which has led to prolonged detention periods for children.

For their part, community representatives affirmed their readiness to assume their roles, activate these committees, and work toward the protection and support of children.
