Minister of Social Development Inaugurates Abad Al-Rahman Social Center in Omdurman

The Minister of Social Development for Khartoum State, Mr. Siddiq Hassan Farini, formally inaugurated the Abad Al-Rahman Social Center in Umbadda (Block 14 – Al-Rashideen) after its rehabilitation and maintenance by CAFA Development Organization, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Welfare, and supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) and Umbadda Locality.

The inauguration comes within the framework of the Joint GBV Survivors Response Program, aimed at providing psychosocial, legal, and protection support to women and girls affected by gender-based violence.

The ceremony was attended by government officials, local authorities, and community representatives.

During his remarks, the Minister emphasized the importance of the center in supporting survivors, empowering women, and reinforcing social resilience, expressing appreciation for CAFA’s continuous humanitarian efforts during challenging times in Khartoum State.

Mr. Al-Khidawi Bashir, Director of CAFA – Khartoum Office, highlighted the organization’s commitment to serving vulnerable groups through meaningful and impactful projects, stressing the need for community support to facilitate survivors’ reintegration and wellbeing.

Ms. Hanan Abdullah, representing Umbadda Locality, affirmed that women remain at the core of social protection efforts and praised CAFA’s role in implementing complex and vital projects.

The event also featured an awareness exhibition, visual presentations on CAFA projects, and cultural performances that were well received by the audience.
