Community Protection Awareness in East Al-Jazirah | Humanitarian Support for IDPs in Sudan

With the grace of God, CAFA Development Organization, in partnership with the Humanitarian Generation Triangle Organization, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Welfare – Al-Jazirah State, successfully conducted community awareness sessions on protection issues.

Furthermore, this initiative was supported by the Sudan Humanitarian Aid Fund and implemented as part of a multi-sectoral assistance project aimed at saving the lives of IDPs, returnees, and host communities.

Specifically, the sessions addressed several critical protection topics, including:

• Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
• The right to education
• Risks of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
• Awareness on landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO)

In addition, these sessions played a key role in equipping communities with essential knowledge to reduce risks and enhance safety.

As a result, this initiative represents a vital step towards strengthening community protection and raising awareness, ultimately contributing to safer and healthier environments for displaced populations and host communities across Al-Jazirah State.
