Solar Power Systems Launch in Sennar Hospitals
Sennar State has strengthened healthcare services for men, women, and children by adopting solar power systems in hospitals. The Wali (Governor) of Sennar, Major General Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed, inaugurated the systems at Sinjah and Umm Durman Fallatah hospitals.
Simultaneously, other hospitals received new medical devices, equipment, and essential supplies, reinforcing healthcare infrastructure and improving patient services reliably.
Appreciation for Strong Partnerships
During the inauguration, the governor praised the Ministry of Health and the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) for their continuous and vital support. He emphasized that partnerships maintained healthcare services during challenging times, ensuring hospitals remained functional and resilient for all patients.
He also highlighted that solar energy provides a sustainable solution to recurring electricity shortages that often disrupt hospital operations.
Collaboration Between Ministry of Health and CAFA
The Ministry of Health worked closely with CAFA Development Organization to implement the solar project efficiently. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Awad Ahmed Abukama, Acting Minister of Health, commended CAFA’s consistent support in installing solar power systems in key hospitals across the state.
These systems provide reliable electricity to operating theaters, intensive care units, and blood banks, improving healthcare delivery for all patients.
Expanding Solar Energy Across Hospitals
Currently, Sinjah Hospital operates three solar units, while 13 other hospitals received new laboratory devices and medical equipment. Dr. Abukama urged staff to maintain the systems to ensure sustainable benefits and uninterrupted patient services.
The solar power project now targets eight hospitals, demonstrating strong collaboration between the government, humanitarian organizations, and local communities.

تعاونت وزارة الصحة مع منظمة كافا للتنمية لتنفيذ المشروع بكفاءة عالية. وامتدح الدكتور إبراهيم العوض أحمد أبوكما، وزير الصحة بالإنابة، الدعم المستمر من كافا في تركيب أنظمة الطاقة الشمسية في المستشفيات الرئيسية بالولاية.
توفر هذه الأنظمة كهرباء مستقرة لغرف العمليات ووحدات العناية المركزة وبنوك الدم، مما يعزز تقديم خدمات صحية آمنة وفعالة لجميع المرضى.
توسيع استخدام الطاقة الشمسية في المستشفيات
حاليًا، يعمل مستشفى سنجة بثلاث وحدات طاقة شمسية، بينما استلمت 13 مستشفىً آخر أجهزة ومعدات طبية جديدة. وشدد الدكتور أبوكما على أهمية صيانة الأنظمة لضمان فوائد مستدامة واستمرار الخدمات دون انقطاع.
