16 Days of Activism: CAFA Hosts Volunteer Workshop in Port Sudan

As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, CAFA Development Organisation hosted a volunteer workshop at its new office in Port Sudan on December 8–9, 2024.

 The workshop emphasized the importance of voluntary and humanitarian work in raising awareness about gender-based violence (GBV).

  During the 16 Days of Activism, volunteers learned practical ways to engage their communities and promote equality.


Volunteer Training During the 16 Days of Activism

The two-day workshop gathered committed volunteers from the local community. 

 Throughout the 16 Days of Activism campaign, participants learned about global objectives, advocacy strategies, and community outreach methods.

 Trainers highlighted the impact of GBV on families and communities. Volunteers also discussed the role of volunteerism in building safe and inclusive spaces.


Moreover, interactive sessions focused on women’s rights, reporting mechanisms for GBV, and effective awareness campaigns.

 Volunteers shared experiences and created plans for future local projects. They learned how to communicate key messages about gender equality during the 16 Days of Activism and beyond.

In addition, CAFA emphasized that volunteers are essential in promoting social change. 

By equipping participants with knowledge and skills, the organization ensures that messages of equality, protection, and respect reach every community member.


Commitment Beyond the 16 Days of Activism

Finally, the workshop concluded with a call to action. Volunteers were encouraged to continue engagement beyond the 16 Days of Activism, serving as ambassadors for gender equality. 

They pledged to support initiatives that prevent gender-based violence and foster safer communities throughout the year.
