Cafa Development Organization, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources in White Nile State, has announced the launch of a comprehensive development program aimed at supporting smallholder farmers, with a special focus on women and youth. The program seeks to enhance vegetable production and strengthen agricultural value chains.

The program targets the registration and support of 1,200 farmers across the localities of Duweim, Jabalain, and Qutaina, through a package of activities that include:

• Establishing 40 agricultural groups to promote cooperative work.

• Creating 80 home gardens to boost household-level food production.

• Distributing agricultural inputs including lentils, okra, cucumber, onion, and molokhia.

• Preparing and cultivating 1,200 acres with diverse vegetable crops.

Cafa for Development emphasized that this initiative reflects its commitment to empowering rural communities and enabling women and youth to play a greater role in productive activities. The organization highlighted that the partnership with FAO and the Ministry represents a model of effective collaboration between international and national institutions to achieve sustainable development.
