CAFA Organization Conducts Awareness Workshop to Support GBV Survivors in Umbada Locality

As part of its commitment to protecting and empowering women and strengthening community efforts to prevent gender-based violence, CAFA Development Organization – Khartoum Office implemented an awareness workshop under the Joint Response for GBV Survivors Project, funded by UNDP and in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC), at Abad Al-Rahman Center in Umbada.

The workshop lasted for three days and targeted 36 women from the local community. Sessions covered legal rights, protection mechanisms, psychosocial support, and sensitive topics such as the risks of female genital mutilation from religious, medical, and social perspectives.

Additionally, psychosocial support sessions helped participants enhance self-confidence, emotional wellbeing, and coping mechanisms, with beneficiaries expressing appreciation for the positive impact and supportive environment.
