From January 27 to 29, 2026, CAFA Development Organization successfully conducted its first training workshop for community health volunteers.
This initiative was implemented under the Life-Saving Emergency Assistance Project, funded by the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
Moreover, the project was carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Health – Khartoum State and the Humanitarian Aid Commission.
The workshop brought together 12 community health volunteers.
In addition, representatives from IRC, the Ministry of Health, and the Humanitarian Aid Commission attended the sessions.
During the opening, Ikhlas Abbas, Project Manager, introduced the workshop objectives and highlighted the importance of health and nutrition.
Following that, Dr. Aziza Haidar delivered a session on nutrition, malnutrition, and prevention methods.
Over the three days, participants explored key health topics.
Specifically, sessions addressed nutrition challenges affecting vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, pregnant women, and individuals with chronic diseases.
Furthermore, the training covered public health concepts, hygiene practices, and both physical and mental well-being.
On the final day, IRC representatives, including Zeinab (Community Health Manager), Ikhlas (Nutrition Specialist), and Iman, attended the closing session.
They praised CAFA and the project team for their dedication and strong performance.
In addition, they reaffirmed their commitment to community health and recognized CAFA as a key national partner.
They also expressed appreciation to Ikhlas Abbas, Omar Al-Awad, and Dr. Aziza Haidar, as well as the trainees for their efforts and commitment.
In her closing remarks, Ikhlas Abbas emphasized the vital role of community health promoters.
She noted that they represent the backbone of any effective health system.
Therefore, such trainings will continue to strengthen health and nutrition services in war-affected communities.

خلال الفترة من 27 إلى 29 يناير 2026، نفذت منظمة كافا للتنمية بنجاح الورشة التدريبية الأولى للمتطوعين الصحيين المجتمعيين.
ويأتي هذا النشاط ضمن مشروع المساعدات الطارئة المنقذة للحياة، بتمويل من لجنة الإنقاذ الدولية (IRC).
كما تم تنفيذ المشروع بالشراكة مع وزارة الصحة – ولاية الخرطوم ومفوضية العون الإنساني.
جمعت الورشة 12 متطوعًا صحيًا مجتمعيًا.
بالإضافة إلى ذلك، حضر ممثلون من IRC ووزارة الصحة ومفوضية العون الإنساني.
وخلال الجلسة الافتتاحية، استعرضت الأستاذة إخلاص عباس، مديرة المشروع، أهداف الورشة وأهمية الصحة والتغذية.
تلا ذلك تقديم الدكتورة عزيزة حيدر محاضرة حول التغذية وسوء التغذية وطرق الوقاية.
على مدار ثلاثة أيام، تناول التدريب عددًا من القضايا الصحية المهمة.
وبشكل خاص، ركزت الجلسات على التحديات الغذائية للفئات الأكثر هشاشة، مثل الأطفال وكبار السن والحوامل ومرضى الأمراض المزمنة.
علاوة على ذلك، شمل التدريب مفاهيم الصحة العامة وممارسات النظافة والصحة الجسدية والنفسية.
وفي اليوم الختامي، حضر ممثلو IRC، من بينهم زينب (مديرة صحة المجتمع) وإخلاص (أخصائية التغذية) وإيمان.
وأشادوا بجهود منظمة كافا وفريق المشروع.
كما أكدوا التزامهم بدعم قضايا الصحة المجتمعية، مشيرين إلى كافا كشريك وطني رئيسي.
كذلك عبّروا عن تقديرهم لإخلاص عباس وعمر العوض والدكتورة عزيزة حيدر، إضافة إلى المتدربين لالتزامهم.
وفي كلمتها الختامية، أكدت إخلاص عباس على الدور المحوري للمتطوعين الصحيين.
وأوضحت أنهم يمثلون أساس أي نظام صحي فعال.
لذلك، ستستمر مثل هذه التدريبات لتعزيز خدمات الصحة والتغذية في المجتمعات المتأثرة بالحرب.
