Strengthening Maternal and Child Health Services

As part of ongoing efforts to improve safe motherhood, CAFA Development Organization, in partnership with Relief International and supported by the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF), conducted a field activity to deliver ICCM equipment to Community Health Workers (CHWs).

This intervention aims to reduce maternal and newborn mortality. It is also implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Health – Gezira State.

Project Framework and Participation

The activity was carried out under the Multi-Sectoral Response Project, which includes health, nutrition, WASH, non-food items, and protection.

In addition, the event was attended by the Director of Health Affairs in East Gezira Locality, reflecting strong institutional engagement.

Improving Community Health Practices

Through this initiative, the project seeks to strengthen reproductive health awareness. Moreover, it promotes improved family and community practices.

As a result, communities are better equipped to care for their children and protect them from common diseases.

Community-Based Health Support

Field teams will conduct regular visits and referrals for children in need of care.
Specifically, cases of malaria, respiratory infections, and diarrhea are identified and referred to health centers.

Therefore, this effort contributes to building a more responsive and effective community health system 🌙💪
