As part of its partnership with the Scientific Youth Organization and the General Directorate for Drug Control, CAFA Development Organization – Al Jazirah State Office participated in the activities marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, held under the theme “Say No to Drugs… Say Yes to Life” on June 28, 2026, at Wad Madani National College.

The event featured a keynote presentation by Major Montaser, representing the General Directorate for Drug Control, who highlighted the Directorate’s role in raising public awareness, combating drug trafficking, and supporting individuals seeking treatment through specialized rehabilitation centers and hospitals across the state. The session also covered different types of drugs, their psychological, physical, and mental health effects, and included an interactive discussion with participants.

CAFA Development Organization also delivered an awareness session focusing on the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and communities. The presentation emphasized the critical role of young people in community development and encouraged them to reject drug use, stand against drug trafficking, promote awareness, and support rehabilitation and recovery initiatives.

The event aimed to strengthen public awareness about the dangers of drugs, promote prevention and protection strategies, and encourage collaboration between government institutions and civil society organizations to build healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.
