📍 Gezira State – East Gezira Locality (Rufa’a)
CAFA for Development, in partnership with Relief International and with support from the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF), and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health – Gezira State, conducted health awareness sessions on sanitation, hygiene, and common diseases.

• A theatrical performance
• Distribution of brochures and posters
• Quizzes, prizes, and active participation from citizens, students, and teachers

The session addressed common diseases in East Gezira locality such as Hepatitis E virus and others, focusing on understanding the disease, modes of transmission, prevention methods, and correcting misconceptions within the community.

The event was attended by representatives of the Executive Director of East Gezira locality, the Administrative Unit Director of Rufa’a, the Director of Health Affairs, Environmental Health and Health Promotion managers, school principals, neighborhood committees, and community health volunteers.

This activity was part of the Multi-Sectoral Humanitarian Response Project in Gezira State, addressing needs in water, sanitation, hygiene, non-food items, health, nutrition, and food security.
