Community Health Awareness Session

On January 29, 2026, CAFA Development Organization, in partnership with Relief International and supported by the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF), conducted health awareness sessions in East Gezira.
The activity was implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Health – Gezira State.

Interactive Community Engagement

The session included a variety of interactive activities. For example, participants engaged in:
✔️ Awareness lectures
✔️ A theatrical performance
✔️ Distribution of brochures and posters
✔️ Quizzes and prizes

As a result, citizens, students, and teachers actively participated and engaged with the content.

Addressing Common Diseases

During the session, key health issues in East Gezira were discussed.
In particular, the focus was on diseases such as Hepatitis E.

In addition, participants learned about symptoms, transmission methods, and prevention measures.
The session also helped correct common misconceptions within the community.

Strong Institutional Participation

The event was attended by representatives from the Executive Director of East Gezira locality and the Administrative Unit of Rufa’a.
Moreover, health officials, school principals, neighborhood committees, and community health volunteers took part.

Part of a Multi-Sector Response

This activity is part of the Multi-Sectoral Humanitarian Response Project in Gezira State.
Furthermore, the project addresses key sectors such as WASH, non-food items, health, nutrition, and food security.

Therefore, the initiative contributes to improving public health awareness and strengthening community resilience 🌙💪
