Joint Response Project Overview

The Joint Response Project is being implemented in Kosti and Rabak Locality and targeted both the IDP camp and the surrounding host community, the project targeted over 17000 individual and aiming to enhance the well-being and resilience of vulnerable populations. The project adopts a comprehensive approach, addressing the urgent needs of displaced families while also supporting the host community. By integrating multiple interventions, it seeks to create sustainable impact, particularly in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector, while fostering community participation and empowerment.

Within the WASH sector, the project emphasizes promoting positive behavior change through several strategies. Ten trained volunteers conduct regular home visits to educate households on proper hygiene practices, supported by awareness sessions and focus group discussions to engage the wider community. The project also directly assists families in need by distributing 500 hygiene kits, 320 dignity kits, and 400 printed IEC materials to reinforce key hygiene messages.

Community mobilization plays a central role, including large-scale cleaning campaigns that have seen strong participation from local residents. These efforts aim to reduce waterborne diseases, improve overall health, and enhance the dignity and resilience of vulnerable populations.
