CAFA Development Organization, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State and with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), has launched a project to provide free mobile clinics for citizens in high-density peripheral areas and those affected by the war conditions.

Prior to the launch, a coordination meeting was held for the project staff, including doctors, health workers, and community mobilizers from the teams operating in Ombada, East Nile, and Bahri localities. The project officially kicked off yesterday in the Ombada area, specifically in Area 52 (Wad Al-Bashir) and Area 15G.

The mobile clinic includes a General Practitioner (GP), a midwife, a laboratory, a psychological clinic, and a pharmacy. On the first day, the GP clinic received approximately 79 medical cases in Area 52 (Wad Al-Bashir) and about 80 cases in Area 15G. In addition to medical consultations, services included laboratory tests (Malaria, Typhoid, and Urine analysis) and the distribution of medication to patients. The psychological clinic also received a significant number of cases in both areas, and the clinics witnessed a wide turnout from the local residents.

Today, the clinics continued their work in the Ombada locality, specifically in Area 29 (Al-Rayhan), where patients were received at the Area 29 Health Center. The clinic attended to 70 medical cases today, which is a 10% increase over the planned capacity, indicating the high demand for these clinics by citizens. Medications were dispensed for all cases, with blood pressure medication and antibiotics being the most common. In terms of demographics, the vast majority of patients were elderly. The psychological clinic also received 5 cases.

According to feedback gathered inside the center, one patient stated that the mobile clinics served the citizens well, given the difficult circumstances and the lack of sufficient funds to visit private doctors or purchase medicine. She described the clinics as a successful initiative that provided a vital service—health—and noted the excellent treatment by the working staff. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the CAFA Organization and the Ministry of Health for this kind initiative and significant effort.

Tomorrow, the clinics will continue in other centers. Three teams will be operating simultaneously—one in Ombada, one in East Nile, and one in Bahri—until all scheduled areas have been visited.
