Launching Free Mobile Clinics to Expand Access to Healthcare 🏥✨

As part of efforts to improve access to healthcare services, CAFA Development Organization, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health – Khartoum State and with support from UNFPA, has launched a free mobile clinics project targeting high-density peripheral areas and communities affected by the war.

Preparation and Project Launch

Prior to the launch, a coordination meeting was held for project staff, including doctors, health workers, and community mobilizers from Ombada, East Nile, and Bahri teams.

The project officially started in Ombada locality, specifically in Area 52 (Wad Al-Bashir) and Area 15G.

Services and Community Turnout

The mobile clinic includes:

• General Practitioner (GP)
• Midwife
• Laboratory
• Psychological clinic
• Pharmacy

On the first day, the clinics received:

• حوالي 79 cases in Area 52
• حوالي 80 cases in Area 15G

In addition, services included laboratory tests (malaria, typhoid, urine analysis) and free medication distribution.
Meanwhile, the psychological clinic handled a significant number of cases, with a high turnout from residents.

Continued Operations on Day Two

On the second day, the clinics moved to Area 29 (Al-Rayhan), where 70 cases were treated—representing a 10% increase above planned capacity.

Furthermore, medications were provided for all patients, with blood pressure medications and antibiotics being the most common.
In terms of demographics, elderly patients formed the majority, while the psychological clinic received 5 cases.

Beneficiary Feedback

According to feedback, one patient highlighted the importance of the clinics, especially given the economic challenges and limited access to private healthcare.
She described the initiative as highly successful and praised the professionalism and respectful treatment by the staff.

Overall, beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to CAFA and the Ministry of Health for this impactful initiative.

Project Continuity

Looking ahead, the mobile clinics will continue operating in additional locations.
Three teams will work simultaneously across Ombada, East Nile, and Bahri until all targeted areas are covered.
