Field Visits to Monitor Humanitarian Activities

From June 7 to June 11, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF) are conducting field visits to national and international implementing partners. These visits aim to monitor project implementation, assess ongoing activities, and identify challenges faced by partners and field teams.

In addition, OCHA and SHF are holding coordination meetings with implementing partners. Through these meetings, field observations, operational challenges, and potential solutions are discussed to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of humanitarian interventions.

Visit to Greater Wad Madani Locality

As part of these activities, OCHA and SHF, accompanied by IRC, conducted a field visit to Al Mansoura neighborhood in Greater Wad Madani Locality. During the visit, meetings were held with neighborhood committees and beneficiaries of the Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) project.

Furthermore, participants discussed the beneficiary selection process and the criteria used for targeting vulnerable households. They also shared feedback on challenges faced by beneficiaries and highlighted additional humanitarian needs within the community.

Coordination Meeting with CAFA and IRC

Moreover, OCHA and SHF held a coordination meeting with CAFA Development Organization and IRC at the IRC office. During the meeting, participants reviewed operational challenges facing the project team and discussed ways to strengthen implementation and improve service delivery.

In addition, OCHA expressed its appreciation for CAFA Development Organization’s successful implementation of the Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance project. OCHA noted that the project is being implemented through sound and effective mechanisms that contribute to achieving the intended objectives and ensuring transparent and accountable assistance delivery.

Strengthening Humanitarian Coordination

Finally, all participants emphasized the importance of continued coordination among humanitarian partners. They also highlighted the need to address field-level challenges collectively in order to enhance the quality, effectiveness, and sustainability of humanitarian assistance provided to affected communities.
