Community Health Awareness for Cholera Prevention

As part of the Cholera Emergency Response Project, CAFA  Development Organization , in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Humanitarian Aid Commission, conducted community health awareness sessions.
These sessions aim to strengthen prevention messages and promote healthy practices.

Prevention as a First Line of Defense

Currently, Sudan is free of cholera. However, prevention and community preparedness remain essential.
Therefore, raising awareness is the first line of defense against potential outbreaks.

Hygiene Promotion and Community Engagement

To support hygiene practices, soap and waste collection tools were distributed. In addition, health messages were delivered through the drama team (Hanan Jota).

This approach highlights the importance of innovative communication methods. Moreover, it ensures strong and lasting community engagement.
