White Nile State – Sudan

Community health volunteers training in Sudan remains one of the most important approaches to strengthening humanitarian response and improving public health awareness in vulnerable communities.

In this context, CAFA Development Organization – White Nile Office, in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), conducted a refresher training for community health volunteers under the Joint Response Project. The activity was also implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Health.

Strengthening WASH Awareness and Community Engagement

The training focused on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) activities. In addition, participants learned how to understand community behaviors and apply effective communication methods during awareness campaigns.

Moreover, the workshop highlighted the importance of community mobilization and active participation in environmental sanitation and hygiene promotion activities.

Through this community health volunteers training in Sudan, volunteers enhanced their practical skills in delivering health messages and supporting safer health practices inside local communities.

Building Local Capacity for Sustainable Humanitarian Response

The training lasted for three days and successfully achieved its objectives. Furthermore, it contributed to improving volunteers’ capacities and strengthening their role in community awareness and humanitarian response activities.
