iCCM Training for Community Health Workers

As part of the Multi-Sectoral Humanitarian Response Project, CAFA Development Organization conducted a specialized training on Integrated Community Case Management (iCCM).

The project addresses key sectors, including WASH, Non-Food Items (NFIs), Health and Nutrition, and Food Security.
Moreover, it is implemented in partnership with the International Relief Organization, supported by the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF), and coordinated with the Ministry of Health – Al-Jazirah State.

Strengthening Community Health Systems

The training aimed to improve maternal and child health services.
In addition, it focused on strengthening community health systems and enhancing the management of illnesses among children under five.

Participants and Locations

A total of 24 community health workers participated in the training.
This included 9 males and 15 females from Rufaa, Bant, Al-Buwayda, and Dalout Al-Bahr in East Al-Jazirah locality.

Training Duration and Venue

The training lasted four days, from December 28 to December 31.
It was conducted at Al-Butana University – Faculty of Education Hall.

Facilitation and Technical Support

The sessions were facilitated by trainers from the Maternal and Child Health Department at the Ministry of Health – Al-Jazirah State.

As a result, participants gained practical skills to better diagnose and manage common childhood illnesses.

Enhancing Health Outcomes

Overall, the initiative strengthens the capacity of community health workers.
Ultimately, it contributes to improved child health outcomes and more resilient community health systems 🌙💪
